I am a community ecologist studying the causes & consequences of biodiversity change across scales. My research explores two overarching questions at the interface of biodiversity science & global change biology:
1. How do local & regional processes interact to structure community assembly & species turnover?
2. How does environmental change mediate feedbacks between biodiversity & ecosystem functioning/stability from local to biogeographic scales?
To address these questions, I combine field experiments with plants, multi-scale remote sensing, long-term ecological modeling, and syntheses of biodiversity data from a wide range of ecosystems including grasslands, wetlands, and forests.
